We collect the minimum information needed to provide our service: your email address or phone number (used for authentication), and usage data such as rental history. When you scan a station QR code the app reads the station identifier from the code; we do not access your camera roll or record video. Location data is used only when you actively interact with the map feature and is never stored on our servers.
Payment card details are processed exclusively by Stripe, Inc. and are never transmitted to or stored on Turulo servers. Turulo receives only a tokenized reference (payment method ID) that allows us to initiate charges on your behalf. You can remove saved payment methods at any time from your profile.
Your data is used to operate the Turulo service: authenticating you, processing rentals and reservations, sending transactional notifications (rental confirmations, return reminders, receipts), and resolving disputes. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties under any circumstances.
Rental and billing records are retained for seven years to comply with financial regulations. Account profile data is retained until you delete your account. You may request full account and data deletion by contacting support@turulorent.com; we will action the request within 30 days.
Turulo uses the following sub-processors, each bound by a Data Processing Agreement and prohibited from using your data for their own purposes: Stripe, Inc. (payment processing); Supabase, Inc. (database and file storage); Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure); Resend, Inc. (transactional email); Twilio, Inc. (SMS notifications); Sentry, Inc. (crash reporting and performance monitoring); PostHog, Inc. (product analytics, anonymised); Expo / Expo Services (mobile push notifications). Personal data is shared with these processors only to the extent necessary to deliver the service.
Turulo is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@turulorent.com and we will delete it promptly.
Turulo is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your personal data is transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and equivalent mechanisms for transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. By using Turulo you acknowledge that your data will be processed in jurisdictions that may provide different levels of data protection than your home country.
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to receive a machine-readable export of your data. To exercise any of these rights email support@turulorent.com.
